MEYER & MEYER – THE MEETING LOUNGE SPONSOR ON THE YEAR OF ITS ANNIVERSARY
The Meeting Lounge is also the heart of the ECD in 2019 and is sponsored this year by Tradebyte service partner Meyer & Meyer . In an interview with Hannes Bruns, Sales Manager at Meyer & Meyer, we spoke about the values of the family company, the trends in e-commerce and the reasons for ECD sponsorship.
Tradebyte: Can you briefly describe Meyer & Meyer? What is special about your company?
Hannes:The Osnabrück-based family company Meyer & Meyer is an experienced partner in the fashion industry and accompanies its customers along the entire textile supply chain – from sheep to shop. As the leading specialist in fashion logistics in Europe, the company offers a range of services that range from raw material and production logistics to storage, processing and quality assurance to the ready-to-sell distribution of goods to retailers or end customers. Meyer & Meyer controls and links value chains with the help of modern IT technologies and offers intelligent omnichannel solutions together with partners. If you ask our customers about their relationships with Meyer & Meyer, you would often get reports of a partnership-based collaboration on an equal footing. We value quality, Innovation, fun, trust and respect. Some of these values can certainly be traced back to the fact that we are a family business.

Where do you see current trends in the industry and how does that fit together with the ECD?
As a partner of the fashion industry, we deal with the same trends and challenges as our customers from the fashion trade and e-commerce, i.e. the visitors of the ECD: These are, for example, the link between stationary and online retail and thus the link between B2B and B2C business, the supply of all sales channels from one portfolio and the question of which omnichannel model fits which business concept. In addition, we observe the developments in the fashion industry, for example the ever shorter collection cycles and the trend towards “near sourcing”. As a logistics service provider, we are of course also interested in how logistics and e-commerce processes can be supported by robotics or artificial intelligence
You are not only a sponsor of the ECD Meeting Lounge, but you are also represented with a lecture in the Best Practice Slot. Why did you decide to do it and what are you looking forward to the most?
The ECD is a great opportunity to present ourselves to decision-makers from the digital fashion trade as a real fashion partner. The Meyer & Meyer world is now more focused on B2C business than ever before and will grow overall. We want to offer our customers the best solutions and participate ourselves. It fits together perfectly and we look forward to many interesting conversations, exciting lectures and one-to-one meetings.
How would you describe the ECD in three words and what do you expect from this event?
(It’s) not another trade show, but rather: Great people, exciting topics and new challenges!
How do you feel about the partnership with Tradebyte? What do you hope for in the future from this collaboration?
Our partnership with Tradebyte is very cooperative. We get to know each other better and better and understand which problems and wishes of the respective customers can be solved by our companies. Together with Tradebyte, we want to help brands enter the marketplace business efficiently and with little effort – while remaining as flexible and independent as possible. We see Tradebyte as an important component and added value in the Meyer environment for both new and existing customers.
