ECD19: A STRONG PARTNER AS A MAIN SPONSOR
There are some exciting innovations in the anniversary year of the ECD. This is also the case with the main sponsorship, for which we were able to win Spryker . ECD visitors can look forward to an exciting, interactive lecture in the Deep Dive Slot with the software company. In an interview, we spoke to Patrick Kleine-Albers, Director Industry Partnerships at Spryker, about the company’s strong growth, developments in e-commerce and ECD sponsorship.
Tradebyte: Hello Patrick, we are very happy that Spryker is the main sponsor of the ECD this year. Can you please briefly describe in your own words what exactly Spryker does?
Patrick: Thank you, the joy is ours. Spryker in a nutshell – With the Spryker Commerce Operating System, we offer our customers a comprehensive commerce solution for B2B and B2C business models. We are more than a shop system. Our special focus is on a fully modular, API-first and headless-based structure. With the option of full technology ownership, both the B2B Suite and the B2C Suite can be completely customized to the needs of our customers. We offer a powerful tool for the complete digitization and flexible scaling of digitally oriented companies. So far we seem to be doing some things right. We are one of the fastest growing software companies in Europe.
Where does Spryker see current trends in the e-commerce industry and how do you think they fit together with the ECD?
Our industry is constantly changing and it is still exciting to see what new differentiation opportunities the Internet of Things will open up for retailers in the competition. For B2B customers, for example, automated ordering options mean more efficiency and convenience. Another topic is online marketplaces. I am convinced that they will continue to experience enormous growth in the future and offer dealers and end customers new opportunities. Amazon has shown the way, and Zalando has also successfully developed from an online mail order company to an online marketplace. The further development to the marketplace is not only an advantage for the operator who has the customer relationship and customer access. The retailer also benefits from the additional range and end customers can choose from a larger selection of products and services. So in the end a win-win-win situation.
This year you are an ECD sponsor for the first time. What exactly motivated you to do this and what are you most looking forward to?
Last year we were able to convince ourselves of the conference on site and found that the ECD is now one of the most important events in the industry. We look forward to exclusive one-to-one meetings, interesting discussions with the who’s who of the e-commerce industry and inspiring lectures.
What do you hope for from our future partnership?
Tradebyte fits perfectly into our ecosystem. What unites us in particular is the same approach in the field of modern commerce technology. We complement each other in the areas of agile development processes and IT productivity. We see potential above all in synergies in addressing customers. Through the partnership, we expand our respective solution portfolio and thus provide our customers with added value in order to master the challenges of a digital world.
We thank you for this interview and look forward to a great ECD 2019 with Spryker by our side.
